On long hot days when the heat seemed to radiate off of every surface, my favorite childhood activity was to swim. Nothing could ever replace that feeling of weightlessness and serenity that washed over me every time I dove in. Nothing could ever replace the hours of enjoyment and the mornings of pure joy that came with knowing that that day, Id be swimming in the pool.
Like every pool, mine had a history. The pool started as a wild dream in the mind of my father. In 1995, he started working on an addition for the house. With that, he planned to add on a gorgeous wooden deck with an above ground pool. For some time, it seemed far fetc

The Father's Daughter
A small girl wearing a white nightgown and pink bunny slippers slyly entered the room and tip-toed over to the bed on the opposite wall. She crawled under the cover, making sure not to disturb the woman sleeping on the left side of the bed. As quietly as she could, the girl rose up over the woman and stared into her face.

Day by sweet day, your love swelled, desperate for returned affection.
Every glance form me to you, cherished,
Freshly stored in your unforgetting memory.
Gradually, I noticed you.
How you helped me and said Hello each dewy morning.
I realized your kind, caring ways and too, fell in love.
Joy filled our young, innocent hearts.
Kisses shared, each remembered by my tender lips.
Love growing until that day
